In 2006, Sam Bader was producing an indie crime film about a burglar when a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with a real robbery. Bader’s eight-year-old son Omar gave the police Sam’s phone number- and to this day, Omar believes that this led to his dad’s arrest and a 24-year prison sentence. Now as father and son seek to rebuild their relationship, they retrace their history and use their mutual love of music and film to reconnect

Czechs in Chicago

October 24, 2019 – Current | As Crowdfunding Coordinator, tasks included sending daily Mailchimp emails and assessing the success of each email campaign and provided copy and content for social media profiles on both Instagram and Facebook.

Currently assisting in a project manager and associate producer role, helping to secure team members and stay on schedule as the project is in post-production, hoping for a release on Chicago WTTW Public Broadcasting Station in 2022.

“Czechs in Chicago: A Home in the Heartland” will tell the story of the Czech immigrant experience in the city, and chronicle its rich history, past and present. Spanning a century and a half of turbulent times, it will show how the Czechs helped build and shape the city, from their experience settling the Czech neighborhoods, to founding cultural and business institutions, to contributing to political and civic leadership.

May 2019 – Present | Assist as Associate Producer with fundraising in-person events, online, and grant schedule, create and send Mailchimp email campaigns, create copy and content for social media on Facebook page. Schedule film shoots, maintain and organize film’s budget.
